Until both are done,\nyou cannot take money from a customer either way.\n\nYour dashboard tracks both as steps you can tick off.\n\n![The Account Review checklist, with Enable Premium as the current step toward selling](https://articles.marketspread.com/images/selling-perquisites/01-account-review-checklist.png)\n\n## Turn on Vendor Premium\n\nPremium is what unlocks your online store and Point of Sale. In your dashboard,\nthe extra services it includes are marked with a star.\n\n1. Click **Upgrade**.\n2. Enter your card details.\n3. Click **Pay**.\n\nPremium costs **$18 a year**. From the premium screen you can manage automatic\nrenewal and see what you have paid.\n\n!!! note \"If you have been a premium vendor for a while\"\n    Vendors who signed up at the old $12 price keep it for as long as they keep\n    renewing. $18 is what it costs to start today.\n\n## Apply to take card payments\n\n1. Go back to your dashboard and click **Setup** under **Setup Payments**.\n2. Fill in the form.\n3. Accept the terms of service and click **Enable Payments**.\n\nThe law requires our payment processor to confirm the identity of everyone\ntaking card payments, which is why the form asks for as much as it does. Fill\nit in carefully — anything wrong slows the check down.\n\n!!! important \"Approval takes 24 to 48 hours\"\n    You cannot take payments while it is pending. The banner on your dashboard\n    turns from blue to green when you are approved, and you get an email.\n\n## Then you are ready\n\nWith both done, your dashboard shows the two requirements complete. From there\nyou can set up your online store, or install Point of Sale on a phone or tablet\nto take payments in person."}
