Once a product is on your profile, you\ncan sell it in a market's online store, ring it up on Point of Sale, and let\ncustomers find it when they browse.\n\nYou add and change products from **Products** in your dashboard.\n\n## Add a product\n\n1. Fill in the **Name** — what a customer would call it, like \"red bell peppers\".\n4. Choose a **Category**, then click **OK**.\n5. Choose an **Item Type**, then click **OK**.\n6. Write a **Description**.\n7. If you only sell something in season,\nset **Starting availability** and **Ending availability** to the first and\nlast month.\n\n![Starting and ending availability set to the apple harvest](https://articles.marketspread.com/images/creating-products/04-availability.png)\n\n!!! note \"Availability decides when it can be bought online\"\n    With a month range set, customers can only buy the product online during\n    those months. Outside them it stays on your profile but cannot be ordered.\n\n## Add photos\n\n1. Click the large **+** to the left of the form.\n2. Choose your picture.\n3. Drag the picture to frame it. The buttons underneath zoom in and out, pan\n   up, down, left and right, and turn it.\n4. Keywords are how customers find\nthe product when they search, so add the words they would use rather than the\nones you would.\n\n![The Keywords field, with one keyword added](https://articles.marketspread.com/images/creating-products/07-keywords.png)\n\n## Choose how it is listed and taxed\n\nThree switches sit under the description:\n\n- **Are you reselling it?** — turn on if you buy the product in to resell it\n  rather than making or growing it yourself. Off unless you turn it on.\n- **Viewable on your online vendor profile?** — on to begin with. Turn it off\n  to keep a product out of your public profile.\n- **Charge tax when sold?** — turn on if you have to charge sales tax on it.\n  Point of Sale then uses your usual rate. If this one product is taxed\n  differently, you can set a rate just for it.\n\n![The reselling, profile visibility and tax switches, at their defaults for a new product](https://articles.marketspread.com/images/creating-products/08-listing-switches.png)\n\n## Add a price\n\nEvery product starts with one configuration, named **Default**, measured by\n**Count**. Fill in **Price** to sell it for a flat amount, or use\n**Add price tier** and **Add configuration** to sell it by weight, in\nbundles, or at more than one size.
